I like Roman.
My impression of Roman is pretty similar to names such as Adrian, Julian, Lucian, Sebastian. It's a bit more "masculine" than those - with a tinge of pompousness and martial-ness - but also kinda quiet and closed, like Rafael or Rowan.
I actually don't think of Polanski. He does slightly taint the name Roman, but not enough that I wouldn't use it. My mind has him labeled as "Roman_Polanski," not as "Roman, last name Polanski." Since I don't know him personally I would only ever refer to him as Polanski, never as Roman. It's kind of funny to think of him as being named Roman because it seems misfit.
Osian seems neat. What I don't like about it, is that out loud, it sounds basically just like Ocean - in my accent anyway. Maybe you like that about it, though.
