Fauve
Met a young girl called Fauve, maybe around 5?
It'sa submitted name here but not on the main database with the descriptor:
Derived from French fauve. As a noun, fauve means "tawny-coloured animal" and, by extension, " big cat (such as a lion or lynx); beast, wild animal (especially fierce, aggressive, or predatory)". As an adjective, fauve means "tawny" and, by extension, "savage, fierce (having the ferocity of a wild animal); dangerous, wild". The name first appeared in the 1980s and was brought to public attention by Fauve Hautot (born 3 March 1986), a French dancer and choreographer

Certainly an interesting name, too out there but still makes sense, I like it. Reminds me of Fauvism.
I thought of Fauvism too: rather that than a tawny carnivore!
Don't like it at all
It's certainly different and unusual. I wonder if this young girl has ever had to say either of these sentences: "Hi, I'm Fauve it rhymes with Mauve" or "My name is Fauve, like mauve with an "F".
All I can think of is the Fauvists. They made some good art, can't complain. It doesn't feel very namey to me though. She'll have a lifetime of repeating herself ahead of her, I bet many people's brains will have trouble understanding Fauve as a name. I would have loved this name when I was 16 though.
I kind of like it.
I like it! It's awesome to see a unique name that's pretty.
