Thoughts on the name Fiona?
I think this name is gorgeous, I'm currently obsessed with it. I immediately think of Fiona Apple and Princess Fiona from Shrek. I think the Shrek association is pretty cool tbh. What do you think?

I think it is beautiful.
Regal but not dainty. A great name. And yeah, I think of the princess from Shrek. I like her as a character but I can see this name working for anyone.
I strongly dislike. I find it whiny.
I love Fiona and would like to meet many more. Only possible issue is, the Fiona I know goes by Fee. Which I don't like. When I was about 10, I knew sisters named Caroline and Fiona, which I thought and still think was a beautiful sibset.
Caroline and Fiona are so pretty!

Don't know about Fiona apple. Fiona is a lovely name, i wouldn't worry about Shrek
I agree with you.
I mostly think of Fiona Apple, who IIRC was around long before Shrek.
The Shrek thing seems really trivial and yeah, not even negative. I think it is suppressing the usage of the name, however I think it's not making anyone actually not like it when they meet a Fiona.
When I met a Fiona, I didn't even think of Apple, let alone Shrek. It's just a really appealing name.
Love it
I think it's quite pretty, but not really my thing. I associate it with Fiona from Adventure Time, the genderswapped version of the main character Finn. She appears in a few sparse episodes, but recently had her own spin-off series.
Edit: Should clarify that I think the Adventure Time association is a good thing.

I think the "ona" names like Fiona, Iona, Catriona, Ilona, Ramona, Leona, Simona etc...have a certain charm and an underlying mystery to them.
Love Fiona, beautiful name
Somebody just asked about this one a couple days ago. I love it. My husband just thinks of Shrek. There will always be something to ruin a name if you keep looking
