HelpRe: Thoughts on the name Nikita for a girl?

I have two main associations with the idea of it on a girl (an American, since I don't have much perspective about those who aren't):
1. the movie La Femme Nikita in which it seemed like an 80s hip gender-bending thing - so a sort of Hollywood/Russo-chic quasi-androgynous usage, like Sasha.
2. it's an Indian usage, so would seem as unusual to see as Anjali or Priya.
I would find it a pretty appealing name, regardless of who the bearer was, and regardless of these associations. On a "just American" gal I think it would seem modern, the way that Kaia or Mila does.
