Wanda
Is Wanda a name that could ever come back into style? How do you feel about it? Thanks

Replies

Any Wanda I knew in my childhood, was of my grandparents era, associated with the movie A Fish Named Wanda or associated with the neighbor character on Wishbone. Now a huge nerd/Disney/Marvel fan, I tend to associate it with Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch. I think for that reason, it could become more popular as Marvel explores more of that character. In fact, I know of a classmate who did name his daughter Wanda in honor of that character.
I knew one she would be 60 soon. Although i always think of a fish named Wanda
It's a welcoming and lively name, but I doubt it will ever chart again soon.
I'm astonished that it was ever fashionable in an English-speaking country. The only Wanda I've met was a little girl who lived near to us when I was not quite so little. Her father was Polish and her mother was Scottish; the daughter got the Polish name and her brother was Roderick.
-anda names are falling out of style, so not in the near future. I think Wanda in particular is pretty close to extinct, so I’d say it has a very slim chance of ever coming back.Wanda’s okay. I think there are more attractive names out there.
Wanda's great! I doubt it will return to the charts.
I love Wanda! I don't know if it will ever become as common as it once was. At least for the foreseeable future. It has an eccentric reputation and I think that will stick around for a while. But I could see it getting popular in a fringe sort of way, among more daring hipster type parents. The kind of people who name their kids stuff like Gene or Amos or Zelda.
I've never met a Wanda even close to my own age, though I'm sure there are some. It's the name of one of my aunts, and it suits her. She's a gregarious, sociable, and very funny lady. Wanda has that sort of comical feel to it these days.
I don't think it'll come back into style anytime soon, if at all.
That's a shame. I like the name.
