Knew of a guy called Kiel pronounced keel, and that's how I'd say this name, too, if not told otherwise.
I'd pronounce it KEEL. No fancy spelling is going to make Kyle cool I'm afraid.
I instinctively pronounced it kee-ELL. It's not a bad name, though. I could get used to it.
