I like the name. It makes me think of a sweet girl, maybe sort of shy.
Not a fan
I read somewhere that 19th century parents had been known to name girl triplets Faith, Hope and Charity. Good luck to them; of the three, I find Hope the least appealing and I can't think of a good nn for it either. Faith could be Fay, Charity could be ChaCha but Hope ... not soapy Hopie, and what else could there be?
Names don’t need nicknames.
I think it's ugly and often cheesy.
Not a favourite when it comes to virtue names, but it's still enjoyable. It is a fresh and cute option nowadays.
I like it. We had a lovely teacher whose last name was Hope and so I always think of her.
Hope is ok but it just sounds a little "tired" to me. Faith has the same problem. There are a lot more interesting word names out there (Verity, Felicity). The virtue names have expanded quite a bit in recent years. I find Hope kind of preppy and can see her with a sister named Paige & Quinn.
Virtue names are a mixed bag to me. I think there's a bit of hokiness inherent in them.Hope is an acceptable one, and I like Felicity. I don't dislike Faith. Beyond that - Peace, Verity, Charity, Chastity, etc. - these are kind of hokey if well-intentioned.So. I'm good with Hope.
I like it!
