Joannie and Jo would work as nns for Joanne, Joanna and Joan.
I dislike Joanne and, indeed, Diane: they both sound whiney. I like Joanna very much, but it would take great determination to go by Joanna and not, yes, Joannie or Jo. Like Elizabeth, I think I'd only consider Joanna as a mn.

Joanne and Joanna were popular with my generation which is millennial not boomer. I prefer Joanna to Joanne.
Joanne is too solidly of my generation for me to be that interested in it. However I love Joanna, it’s a bit more old-fashioned. Joannie is a cute nickname. Jo is fine but overused.
In Polish the nn for Joanna is Asia, because that makes any sense. :/
