Much prefer Magdalena

It's modest and vintage, I like it! But only as a diminutive of Magdalena.

I like It as a nn for Magdalena or Magdalene.

If it’s short for Magdalene or Magdalena, then I like it. As a stand alone name, not so much.

I don't like Mag names anyway. It's such an ugly sound. But Magda is even uglier and sounds like a female SS camp guard.

I love it as a nn for Magdalen.

Acceptable as a nn for Magdalen; otherwise, too unfinished.

I love its frumpy severity. A great name!

I went to elementary school (kindergarten–6th grade) with a girl named Kayla who was horrified by her middle name: Magda! I loved it even back then.
