Re: Names my husband vetoed (more)
Nora: Much, much prefer Norah but Nora is sweet.
Leah: Also sweet. I feel like Nora, Leah, and Sadie have similar vibes.
Julia: Ehhhh. Prefer Juliana.
Magda: Spunky! I love it. Love Magdalene, too. I would've happily named her Magdalene and called her Magda on the daily.
Gwen: Love! It's so approachable.
Jordan: Vastly dislike, for both genders. Just sounds sporty like all they know about is basketball or something.
Rosalind: Respectable but far from my favorite rose- name.
Eleanor: Never could warm up to this name. Probably due to a wild RA I had in college. Yikes is all I can say.
Naomi: Every child goes through a phase of writing their name backwards - at least where I lived - and no one will let her live it down. Plus, it's just not a pleasant sound to me.Genevieve: One of my most favorite names! Prefer the French pronunciation but I recognize I couldn't ask people where I live to use it correctly.
Cecilia: Slimy. Toads and earthworms and a girl with glasses and mossy teeth. Shudder.
Violet: I want to like it. It's got a V and I love that letter. But it's one letter from "violent" and that bothers me more than it should.I like Katarina. At least, more than Katerina.
Raphael is fun.
Malcolm has a special place because of Firefly but it isn't a dear place so I can take it or leave it.
