Name for a character
Massie is a 14-year-old living in Salem, MA around the year 1700. In other words, she lives during the Salem witch trials. She is not a witch nor a witch hunter, just a baker's daughter, but she pretends she is a witch posing as a witch hunter. What is her full name?
Right now I'm torn between Massima and Thomasina, although I am leaning towards Massima. If anyone has other suggestions for a full name, I am happy to hear them.

At a stretch you could try something like Modesty as a name, some Puritan names were even more elaborate, a whole sentance from the Bible in some cases. Oh, and remember that the trials were over by 1693 and by 1700 there was criticism against Salem for the persecution and death of innocents.
Thomasina or Thomasin would be more likely for a girl in that place and time, but frankly, even those aren't especially believable. More likely she'd be Mary, Elizabeth, Anne, Martha or Sarah, or possibly a virtue name like Charity or Patience.
I think Thomasina would be great for the character. But, if you decide that you like Massima better, that's also a good choice.
If you want the story to feel rooted in reality at all, Massima, Andromeda and Belle don't fit the era and culture of the story.
Thomasine could work as a full name for Massie, but the others do not work. I suggest doing some research on the naming traditions of the time period, the Puritans had some great ones!

If I could change Belle and Andromeda's names I would, but I can't because they are not my characters and this is my friend's story.
Thank you for the advice! I really like Thomasine and that is what most people I asked said.

I think Thomasina would be better suited to the period in which your story takes place.
I would go with Thomasina, or Thomasine, because at one point I was looking at historical records of people living in the colonies around that time and there were quite a few Thomasines.
