Until today, I just googled it, I thought the ice cream was named Calypso but it’s Calippo 😂 But it’s the first thing I think of whenever I see the name Calypso. Summer days on the beach with a calippo ice cream.

Mythology name are generally okay if a little over the top. Weirdly, just heard a song on the oldies station, John Denver singing about the oceanography ship, Calypso.

Seems cartoonish to me.

It's kinda fun. It's funky, very tropical sounding. The "-lipso" part is less appealing, but it's still ok. It doesn't make me think of the myth at all, more about Pirates of the Caribbean. So the name itself comes across as tacky in a fun, theme park kind of way, like a plastic cup shaped like a pineapple, or a hot pink lawn flamingo (which is something I'm personally into).

Callie is a very nice nickname that could make it easier to pull off, but it's not a name rooted in reality. I agree it would be a great pet name though!
