Katherine
What do you think of Katherine with the nickname Kate?

Replies

Been popular for way too long. A real snoozer.
I prefer just Kate.
Nothing wrong with it, but doesn't do much for me. A timeless classic for sure, if that is what you're into. Kate is cute, very girl next door.
It bores me. The spiritual equivalent of Nicholas "Nick".
Katherine per se is beautiful. However, I like Katheryne and Katherina better. I'd rather use Kitty as a nickname than Kate, which is a little boring and overused.

Overused for too long. I'd prefer the spelling Katharine, and I'd prefer Kitty or even Kathy to worn-out Kate.
Katherine is eternally beautiful, an ageless classic. Suppose if one absolutely must abbreviate it Kate is an okay option.
Personally, I feel Catherine and Katherine boring, but I think Kate is a pretty nickname.

*yawn*
Kate is better than Katie, but most things are.
Katherine and Elizabeth and Anna are the kind of names people choose who claim not to want super-popular classic names like Sophia or Isabella but don't realize how popular those other classics actually are, and how common nns and sound-similars are.
I'm pretty sure those are the names chosen by people who either 1) diss on modern names or 2) want to honor relatives.
I think that Katherine is a pretty name, and I love Kate as a nickname (though, I actually prefer Kate as a first name!). It's very classy and historical, and the "K" looks sleek. Even though, I prefer the Catherine spelling due to my mother bearing the name.
Pretty boring.
