Nicknames As First Names?
Are there any nicknames you wouldn't hesitate to use for your child's first name?Personally, I love Edie, Bonnie, Romy, Nell, Tess & Polly for girls and Jake, Monty, Perry, Jack & Theo for boys.

Although not my usual style I think these kind of names are really cute, although sometimes too cute :)I love Polly, Betty, Dulcie, Hetty, Lilibet, TrudyKit for a boy or girl. Monty (my nephew!), Jem, Larkin, Percy
Not really a fan, though in your list Perry and Polly feel like they are names in their own right by now. Likewise Kate and Lisa.
Kay Midge Liesel Pip Cricket Nelly Lyssa Elm Frankie Zia Beth
Colt Huck Jimmy**because James is not an option
I have always been a fan of Long names so personally, this is not my cup of tea
I do like nicknames when they're paired with something or as a nickname for a longer name
however, Romi (or Romy) isn't considered a nickname where I am from because it means "My exaltation" or "my highness" (I just wanted to share this fact because I thought you would find it interesting)
I know an Ellie and Margot and I’ve always loved their names
Certainly! I love Sally, Gracie, Cindy, Wendy, Connie, Nancy, Lori, Cassie, Jenny, Trudy, Etta, Nell, Amy, Ruthie, Nellie, Lizzie, and Marcy for girls. For boys, I like Zeke, Jack, Xander, and Monty.

I like Betsy, Jenny, Penny and Polly off the top of my head, but I'd always use Elizabeth, Jennifer, Penelope and, I suppose, Mary or Paula. If you have a full name, then that with a nn gives you two options - in the case of Elizabeth and Penelope, many more than two. But with a nn as your fn, you can't go around saying 'My name is Jenny; please call me Jennifer'.
