HelpRe: Thoughts on the name Gilbert?

I have a cousin named that so I naturally think of him first. I don't really care for it to be honest and neither has my cousin. I do like Gil however, which is what he mainly goes by and when he was younger "lil' Gil" to differentiate himself from his father also named Gilbert. So there was Big Gil & Lil'/Little Gil. 馃槄
