Re: new names for British monarchs
I'd actually love to see super old (or medieval) royal names make a comeback. Wikipedia says that their was a King Alfred of Wessex in the 10th century, as well as a King Edmund and King Edgar. That would be cool.I also think King Louis rolls well. William and Kate seem to think so too, considering they used it as a middle name for George and a first name for, well, Louis. BUT, it also sounds very French in my opinion. The French had 16 King Louis (even more if you count the restauration and Louis-Philippe). So would it be ''too French'' for the British monarchy? Maybe. At the same time, it's not like France is the heriditary ennemy anymore. ;-)Some of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren and great-grandchildren do have nice names that I think could fit a reigning monarch:Queen Beatrice
Queen Eugenie
Queen Louise
Queen CharlotteKing August
King ErnestHere are others I think sound nice and seem royally enough: King Alexander
King Archibald (I prefer the real version than Archie)
King Arthur
King Edwin
King Leopold
King Marcus
King Samuel
King TheodoreQueen Abigail
Queen Amélie or Amelia
Queen Constance
Queen Daphne
Queen Emma (there was a Queen Emma in the late 10th century)
Queen Esther (sounds very Biblical, but I like it!)
Queen Helen
Queen Lydia
Queen Marina
Queen Sarah
Queen Sibyl
Queen SimoneDon't hesitate to rate my different PNLs: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/246179
