Liliana, Irina, Cassandra, or Vanessa?
Which is your preference/order of preference?

Replies

Liliana, Cassandra, Irina, Vanessa In terms of sound, I'd rank Vanessa higher than Irina, but including associations I'd rank Irina higher.
Liliana (really like)
Irina (like)
Cassandra
Vanessa (dislike)
I think Vanessa should make a comeback.
Choosing between Cassandra and Vanessa is a very difficult decision for me; I'm feeling Cassandra today more, however. Vanessa and Cassandra are both interchangeable for that highest-ranked spot. Next, I would list Irina and then Liliana; both are beautiful, but I love how Irina sounds!

Vanessa Vanessa is a name I should like, given my tastes; but it has always felt cold and standoffish to me.
I prefer Lilian to Liliana - the LIliANa rhythm doesn't please me. But I don't even like Lilian.
I once met an Irina who pronounced it eyeREEna. I like that better than any other pronunciation.
Cassandra bugs me twice. I don't like Sandra or any name containing it, and the legend of Cassandra is a very unhappy one.
I like Vanessa a lot. Don't think I'd ever use it, but that's just because there are other names I prefer. As invented names go, it's probably the best, and I love the butterfly connection.
Order of preference, therefore:
1 Vanessa
2 Irina
3 Cassandra and Liliana, joint last
I didn’t know Irina was ever pronounced another way. I know an Irina who’s an immigrant from Russia, and she pronounces it the same way.
From this site: Pronounced i-RYEE-nə(Russian) EE-ree-nah(Finnish)
1 Irina
2 Vanessa
3 Cassandra
4 Liliana
1. Liliana - I would call her "Lily", though
2. Vanessa
3. Cassandra
4. Irina
