Scarlett or Charlotte?
Which one do you like more? Also, I only like these spellings. Possible siblings could be James, Evan, Joseph or Maddalena(Madeline), Helen, or Emma/Kylie.
No idea where Kylie came from! I do like the meaning. Also, I don’t like Kylie because of the Kardashians.
This is for a book, but please comment as though these were real people.
I seriously can’t pick between the two. Scarlett is more unique, but Charlotte is simpler.

I'd choose the name Charlotte, because I think that it sounds prettier.
It depends on the character's personality. Scarlett is dramatic and romantic, Charlotte can be many things. I don't think Charlotte is simpler, it's a fairly complex name, but it could fit a romantic character or a shy character or a lot of other personalities, while Scarlett is more limited in that the character would have to be somewhat dramatic.
Most of the sibling ideas you listed would work better with Charlotte.
Charlotte and James, Charlotte and Helen, Charlotte and Emma, Charlotte and Maddalena.
Scarlett would work with Maddalena or Helen.
Kylie and Evan are too "regular modern people" names to go with either of them, I think. I could sort of see Scarlett and Kylie together depending on what the other siblings were called.
Joseph doesn't go with either of them as well as James would.
Think about nicknames too if you want this character to have nickname options, even if it's just a baby nickname for flashbacks. Charlotte has Charlie, Charly, Charla, Lotte, Lottie, and more. Scarlett has Lettie, Letty, and not much else.

Thanks, I’m writing two books. I knew from the beginning for one book would feature a girl named Scarlett Ayala. I think you’re right, and Charlotte fits the other girl better. Thank you so much!
I think Charlotte is a better style match with the names of the siblings in your book.
Charlotte, Scarlett is trendy and tacky.
Charlotte, without a doubt. Charlotte is soft, sweet and classic. Scarlett is harsh, grating, tacky, and modern, but not in a refreshing way. Scarlett doesn't feel "unique" to me, it feels like an overwhelming trend, whereas Charlotte feels more timeless.
I think Charlotte and Helen would be great together.
I think Charlotte and Helen would be great together.
Although I dislike Charlotte, I'd willingly choose it because I dislike Scarlett even more. And, if I may say so, Scarlett is so firmly linked to a book character already that using it in another one might not be the best idea, even if she is a respectable blonde!
Charlotte and James and Emma.
Charlotte and James and Emma.
Agree that Scarlet is better than Scarlett and depending on how the character is I may rate them like Scarlet > Charlotte > Scarlett. I VERY rarely like "misspelled word" / "a word but with an extra letter" names. Raine is the one exception I can think of.
I just think the two Ts at the end looks weird on girl names, for some reason. I like it on boy names, but on girl names, it looks both extra and incomplete at the same time.
Honestly, I like them both a lot!
I think Scarlett generally sounds better, but it's harder to make nicknames for. Charlotte I like the sound of less but I love its nicknames (Charley/Charlie, Lottie, etc).
