Re: Isabelle or Isabel??

Isabel always for me. Feels much more classic seeming and grownup. It's like the -elle ending asks to be spoken-up, as in GabriELLE and MichELLE, it should be IsabELLE. But I only like this name pronounced IZ-a-bel. I know Isabelle is supposed to be like that - so what's the point of the frills? To look French? I don't get it. Unless she's a French speaker. Is it to get nn Belle? Not my thing.
I am not sick of it. I've only met one person with it. Her mom's Hispanic and the name is spelled Isabela. I think it's nice, and I think I would even think Isabella and Isabelle were nice if I saw them on real people. Beats clunky ol' Evelyn, Amelia, Harper ... and maybe even Olivia, by a small margin. I'm relatively tired of Olivia.
