Re: Isabelle or Isabel??
in reply to a message by )(
Isabel always for me. Feels much more classic seeming and grownup. It's like the -elle ending asks to be spoken-up, as in GabriELLE and MichELLE, it should be IsabELLE. But I only like this name pronounced IZ-a-bel. I know Isabelle is supposed to be like that - so what's the point of the frills? To look French? I don't get it. Unless she's a French speaker. Is it to get nn Belle? Not my thing.I am not sick of it. I've only met one person with it. Her mom's Hispanic and the name is spelled Isabela. I think it's nice, and I think I would even think Isabella and Isabelle were nice if I saw them on real people. Beats clunky ol' Evelyn, Amelia, Harper ... and maybe even Olivia, by a small margin. I'm relatively tired of Olivia.- mirfak
