I don't really have a solid opinion. I think it depends on the person? I like how Isabelle is elegant but a little cutesy and how Isabel seems more no nonsense but still pretty. It also depends on what combo it's in. Like Isabel would be a better middle name for one name, but Isabelle for another. I don't mind the name Isabelle/Isabel, though it's pretty popular where I live, so I don't pay it too much attention. It's pretty enough, though it can get old after a long time and after a lot of Isabelles and Isabels.
