Marilia
Last night I was at an event where there were not one but two women, both of Brazilian descent, both named Marilia. Apparently it’s a typical Brazilian name. I’m always intrigued by random unusual names being very common in specific areas.
Wdyto Marilia? How does it compare to Marilyn, Marlise etc?

Oh man, I got all excited because I thought this name was Marilla! I do love Marilla.
Marilia is very fancy and beautiful. I like it. It's more fun than Marilyn (although I'm biased since I have a boring great aunt called Marilyn and heard the name a million times). If I had heard this name when I was 10, I would have fallen madly in love with it. It's so princess like.
I love finding out unexpected names that are very popular in specific areas too. That's so neat.

It seems familiar, but I can't think of a specific association. I like it and prefer it to Marilyn and Marlise.
