Leanne or Myra?

Definitely Myra
Leanne
Leanne. I don't like the mixture of sounds in Myra. I prefer Mira or Maya.
Myra Myra Myra! I love it, it's beautiful. Leanne is tired for me.
As someone from the UK, 100% Leanne. I dislike it a lot but...Myra...Myra Hindley. She murdered children. Her crimes were horrific enough that it's tainted the name here for a long time, and I don't think the association is gone even now. When I hear any name like Myra I do associate it with her, and it's one of the worst associations to have. I think it could be the prettiest name on the planet (it really isn't) and it'd be hard to come back from something like that.
If you have no link to the UK and fully intend for little Myra never to set foot on the island, sure, go for it (it's still not a nice name imho). If you have any doubts, just look at the comments on the name.
Myra is currently ranked #491 on the England & Wales chart, so it can't be that taboo of a name in the UK.
I do think it would be a little extreme to only be naming a daughter Myra if you have absolutely no ties to the UK or desire to go there. And I did look at the comments, and there were a few people from the UK who felt the same, and some who had never heard of her, so there must be variation, though I wouldn't know for sure. I did notice that hundreds of girls in the UK were named Myra within the past decade. While I think it is horrible to name a child after a monster, which Mz. Hindley seems to have been, I also don't think people should give them the glory of letting them occupy their brains constantly, though it's understandable.
" I also don't think people should give them the glory of letting them occupy their brains constantly" I so agree with this 100%!
LeanneDon't like Myra at all
Myra 100%. Leanne is outdated, and I'm sorry, but kind of trashy sounding. Myra, on the other hand, is timeless and classy.
