I don't care for Brinsley but I do remember the writer below. I would guess that a lot of Irish children were named in his honour.
Fyi - Richard Brinsley Sheridan was an Anglo-Irish author, playwright and politician who lived from the 1750's to 1816. He was famous for some comedies of manners like "The School For Scandal" and "The Rivals".
