Lyra or Esme?
what's your pick and why?

Esme, though I'd rather spell it Esmé. It's a very pretty, dusty pink. It would be brilliant on a librarian. Similar vibes to Miriam.I had a rollercoaster experience with Lyra. Started out loving it, then found it strident and boring (think Aurora and Luna, both names I really dislike), now I'm warming to it again. It feels light and sparkly and interesting.
I love Esme. It's vintage, soft and sweet.Lyra is okay but it seems very trendy at the moment. It's a "flavor of month" sort of name.
I like Lyra, because she is the main character in one of my favorite books. I like Esme, too. But prefer the correct version for girls: Esmée.
Esme, definitely. Lyra sounds so strident and try-hard to me (though I love the meaning).
Esme no contest. I've liked Esme a long time, it makes me think of silent films. I think it's elegant. I was already grown up by the time Twilight fever hit, so I often forget it even has that association. Never really gotten into Lyra, I much prefer Lyla.
LyraEsme looks awkward.
Lyra. It’s pretty and has a softer sound,
Esme "May"Because I don't like either very well but I like May
Esme, because it’s beautiful, ages well and has a lovely meaning and sound.
