I want to like it but it’s too Alvin and the Chipmunks for me.
I love Alvin. I like most "cartoon character" names! Alvin is quirky and friendly.
My friend's husband has the middle name Alvin and he hates it witha fiery passion, but I love the dichotomy. He's a big tough guy, lots of tattoos, always scowling, very scary! And his middle name is Alvin. It's perfect.

I don’t like it. I do like the similar Melvin, but that’s mainly because of a book character.
Chipmunk
Alvin? Alvin! AAAALLLL-VINNNN!
It's forever a Chipmunk name.

I that still on TV? Would kids even know about it.
There was a new version that was on not too long ago. There was a student at my school named Alvin and the other kids were always making chipmunk jokes.
Chipmunk movies. Yes, kids know about it.

That goddam, godawful, sap-oozing Christmas "song" by the Chipmunks is still played ad nauseam on radio and in stores every year. It is worse than Madonna's version of "Santa Baby" and any iteration of "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" put together, and those two are each hideous and horrible.

Like just about everything else, the Chipmunks were resurrected. There've been a couple Chipmunk movies in recent years.
