I can't find data online for Gere. The gender, how it's said, and what culture/language it's from eludes me. Please do share if you know.
Gere appears among the Boys Under 15; the school has two languages of instructionL English and Afrikaans. My guess about Gere, and it is only a guess, is that it's a shortened form of Gerald, Gerrit, Gerry ... and that he is an Afrikaans speaker. Canielle, a few posts below, sees it as a lnfn and associates it with an actor named Richard Gere; she usually gets things right.

Jesse, Louis and Emile are handsome. I prefer Simon to Simeon. Morgan and Talitha are the girl named I like.
