I think I instinctively use the fetus pronunciation too, and you're right, it's not great! Maybe if we tweaked it to "THAY-tiss" - is that nicer??
Thetis Angelica looks great, they work together well. Theis is interesting because it's delicate but not in the usual lacy, fragile way - it's a bit odd, awkward and alien. Angelica has that same feeling of being half ethereal, half heavy blunt object.
Thetis Frederica is great for that too, and Thetis Emmeline! I like pairing Thetis with other eccentric Victorian type names, they mesh well.
