What are your favorite names that were popular in the 80s or 90s?
This is my favorite era of names, so I'm curious what your favorites are!

I was born in 1990, so this era of names is decidedly not my favorite, but I always thought Rachel was gentle and pretty. I also appreciate Vanessa's chintzy villainy.
Great choices! Rachel is one of my favorite names of all time! Also, the fact that being born in the era makes you like it less is really interesting to me. I always thought being born in the early 2000s has made me biased TOWARD these names, not against.

I’ve always been an annoying contrarian who’s freaked out by homogeneity—I remember being disturbed by all the Katies, Sarahs, and Nicoles I knew as a kid.
Ah, that's totally fair! I knew a lot of Abigails as a kid, but I found that fun, although I suppose it wasn't fun for them.

Ok, at the time, my tastes were different (I wouldn't be caught dead admiring some of these names when I was 13). But now, looking back from a safe distance, these ones are ok:
Michael
Nicholas
Will (William in full I guess, but nobody ever used it)
Jonathan
Shane
Cody
Timothy (I knew a surprising number of these)
Marshall
Graham
Marcus
Aaron (this one I loved back then, but dislike it now)
Cameron
Ashley (I did know a boy Ashley in the 90s if you can believe it)
Sabrina
Amanda
Erin
Amy
Sarah
Crystal
Melanie
Tara
Chantal
Valerie
Holly
Courtney
Samantha
Jade
Brandy
Heather

I can believe it! I've noticed that when there is a huge blow-up for a name of one sex, it seems to spread to the other sex as well.

Amazing list! At least half of these are on my PNL as well, and most of the ones that aren't are still beautiful.
Thank you.
My name is on there, yayyy. I lowkey forgot my name was part of this era, haha.
I kinda like the "Disney Channel" type names. Kevin, Corey, Cody, Max, Zoe, Carly, Stacey.
Huh, I never realized these were Disney-core but you're so right! Except I think Carly is more Nickelodeon-core, haha.
I forgot iCarly was on Schneider era Nick and not Disney. Used to be a peak time on TV.
