Great uncle's name. Glad it's not popular since they would likely dump it on girls where it looks terrible.

I dislike Kinley and McKinley is even worse. It's just one of those names that should remain a surname.

I think it has a nice flow - better than McKenzie. It might be less popular than you would expect because Kinley fits the trend more (two syllables max and has ley at the end). I wouldn't guess that the mountain with the same name would be a reason. People are using Everest which sounds less like a name in my opinion.

William McKinley isn't one of the most popular presidents. I'm sure he was fine, but his assassination is what I remember most about him. He was succeeded by his Vice President, Theodore Roosevelt, who is a lot more famous. I like some of the fantasy stories by Robin McKinley. The author and president are my top associations with the name.

"Mc" names are sounding increasingly dated IMO. Kinley sounds like it would fit in with all the Everleigh and Riley girls.

Kinley is also a name rising in popularity. Both are bad.
