Kimber
Wdyt of Kimber as an independent name?
It's growing in popularity?

Replies

I grew up with a Kimber in the '90's, so I don't think of it as weird or anything. It surprises me that it is growing in popularity, because to me it is dated and seems like it should be in the '80's with Kimberly, Amber, Heather and Jennifer.
I actually really like this name for a girl, and wish that I heard it more often.
Don't really like it
I like Kimber, but not as much as Kimberly.
It's not my style but the more I stare at it the more I like it. It's halfway between Kimberly/Kim and Amber. Definitely feels a bit country.
I honestly like it more than Kimberly. It sounds fresher and less stuffy. However, I like Ember more.
Probably the minority but I find this endearing and cheeky. I wouldn’t mind if it were my name.
Kimber, Amberly, Ameberlyn, Tawny, Fawn - all of these give me a 'country chic' vibe. I could easily see my co-worker liking most of these. I've been aware of Kimber for a while - I suppose it's a 'newer' version of Kimberly.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this one.
Apparently it's the name of a weapons manufacturer, so I'm guessing it's popular due to the rise of gun-names trend.
It was also a character in Two and a Half Men. It checks a lot of boxes.
How many boxes in total?
Um...It's short, familiar, an updated version of Kimberly, used on a popular show, apparently there is a gun with the name....
In one of my interior decor groups, someone posted a baby nursery with the name "Kimber Something" on the wall, along with a gun hung up as a decoration. That's where I learned about the gun company, people were like "wtf is with the gun on the wall". I hope it was fake, but I don't know anymore. I do know people who would genuinely do something like that in real life so I just don't know.
