Kit, Kitty, Kat, and Rini will always be my favorite Katherine nicknames. I have a soft spot for Kay too so I hope it comes back.

I like Kathy, Kate and Katie as nn. Kaye is nice as a standalone name

I was just thinking a little while ago that Kay and Kaye are actually quite nice. And I love Kath, I think it's so chic. I think they're ready to come back. Kathy I'm not as keen on, it's an "auntie" name for me, so it's a little dull. Cathie is kinda cute though, that spelling feels more fresh to me.

I think a lot of Kathys are becoming grandmas nowadays, so I wouldn't be surprised if Catherine/Katherine joins the filler middle name club, as legions of Kathy's kids have kids.

I honestly was wondering when Kay would come back. It seems like it should.

I think Kay is ready. Kathy, not so much. I think maybe Kate is coming back/catching up to Katie?
Kat is also just... around. And Kit/Kitty is rare but I've seen it.

Kay might come back, but I think Kathy is no longer seen as attractive. Kate and Katie will probably never die. I adore Kitty and Kit as NNs. I wouldn't mind those being used more often. As far as legal names though, I would never use Kitty - but I'd choose it over Kathy.

I’d give it another generation or two. And don’t forget Kit! I’d love Kit to come back. :)
