Classic and timeless.
Classic and timeless
Alexander is classic and timeless.
A timeless name is by definition one which can't be dated to any time period. Alexanders can be old, middle aged or young. It's a name that bucks all trends.

Its dated but I think I see the appeal.
Of course it is classic.
It has never really been completely out of use, especially if you consider the whole world and all the forms of Alexander. It probably won't be out of use in any foreseeable future. So in that sense you might say it is timeless.
It's not timeless in the sense that it's unaffected by fashions.
But I don't think that it'll ever seem like a dated old-man name the way that, say, Reginald or Herbert does now imo. It'll probably just be used gradually less for a while. So, maybe in forty years it could seem about like Stephen / Steven does now (another classic name that isn't totally timeless).

Classic/timeless. But maybe a bit overused currently.
It's without a doubt, an absolute timeless and classic name.
To me, Alexander is timeless. Its nicknames are not (Alex, Xander). So I don't know how that works.
Timeless
I think it's timeless. Nicknames might cycle in and out, but honestly Alex is pretty timeless (Al and Xander not so much). Sasha might be timeless too but it's rare in my language so I see it as 'refreshing and foreign', maybe in some places Sasha is a boring or dated nickname for Alexander? Or just timeless and average like Alex?
Timeless and classic.
Classic. I love it and wish I could make it less popular lol
Definitely classic!
Classic and timeless
It's definitely a classic, though I've never liked it. It evokes for me a whiny boy who's not that smart. And I hate Alex!
My husband's name is Alexander and he hates Alex, he uses Xander. I love how nicknames can date before a name - Katie, Kate, Kathy and back to Katie for Katherine.

Classic. Alex is dated.
Really? I feel like Alex is very modern.
I agree. Lex would be a good nickname.
