Another notable sibset in my family tree circa 1670s and 1680s
I felt like these sisters names were selections taken from 3 separate families but no, they were all sisters. Unusual. Wdyt?
Mercy
Sarah
Susanah
Luranah
Rosanna
Penelope

Too many names ending with -anna sound.
Do Susanah and Luranah rhyme? That'd bug me.
Mercy, Sarah, and Penelope seem like a colonial era sibset to me. Mercy and Penelope do seem slightly different styles (I think they both fit in with Sarah or Susanah, though).
Luranah stands out as unrecognizable or unique to the time/place/family. I wonder if it's a version of Lorena or totally different.
Rosanna is the main one that seems unexpected to me (because it strikes me as kind of modern whether it actually is or not).

Are they from England? It's like you can see the family letting go of the more austere values of the Protectorate era and embracing the decadence of the Restoration with each successive child.
Lemme double check: they were born in Connecticut but their father was an English immigrant from Somerset. Their mom from Rhode Island.
Hm, Rhode Island was exiles/dissenters from Puritan Massachusetts in the 1600s. They were more diverse and tolerant generally.

The backgrounds of the parents could explain the mix of styles. Although it's a mystery to say who was the romantic and who was the conservative! I kind of like that you can't know - gets the imagination going.
