Twila is my sister’s name so I’m biased. I always liked it though it’s nms personally. It’s kind mysterious and brings to mind a deep blue velvet sky with stars. I think spelling it with a y really takes away all the appeal, the appeal being the resemblance to the word twilight.
I think Angel is sooo cute! Of course, you’d be ‘safer’ using it as a nn for Angela or Angelina or Evangeline but I think it’s a bearable name on it’s own to.

They both seem pretentious and show-offish to me. Angela would be better than Angel, and just about anything would be better than Twila. In one of the Terry Pratchett books, Death's granddaughter Susan is the governess for Twila and her equally pretentiously-named brother, whose name I forget. But their mother is a social climber who keeps getting things wrong - 'lounge' instead of 'sitting-room' - and correcting herself in mid-sentence.
Ah - looked it up - the brother is Gawain and the book, appropriately for the time of year, is Hogfather.
