Audrey, Dorothy, Ella and Carol
What are your thoughts on these four girls names? Which are your favourites and why?

Audrey is middle-aged, plump and unremarkable in every possible way.
Dorothy is lively and alert.
Ella fades into the wallpaper.
Carol is better than Carole, but still not good. I far prefer Caroline.

Audrey I like, a good classic
Don't like the others

Dorothy is the only name of the four that I actively dislike.
Ella is pretty, but sometimes it also sounds like... well, a sound as opposed to a name. Emma does the same thing to me. Like some sort of ubiquitous non-name.
Out of Audrey & Carol, I think I prefer Audrey.

Dorothy, Carol, and Audrey are lovely, and I'd be thrilled to encounter them on young sisters.
Ella is insubstantial and has never appealed to me.

Audrey- I don't like it. Too fancy sounding.
Dorothy- dated. Makes me think of the Wizard of Oz
Ella- Love this name! My favorite here
Carol- I already have a negative association with this name. Prefer Carolina.

Audrey reminds me of "tawdry" and Audrey Hepburn - two very different images. It's demure, not outwardly attractive. Like Frances.
Carol is broad, warm, boring. Very dated.
Dorothy is a bit TOO warm. Similar vibes to Audrey, but friendlier and broader.
Ella is flimsy, but friendly.
I think Ella is my favourite.
