I hadn't noticed this as a name at all before this post, but there is a British historian named Bettany Hughes who I have seen several times in documentaries on PBS, and her name is evidently pronounced the same way, though in that spelling it seems to be have a surname origin. I've also been intrigued by the historian's name and so think this would be a good choice for a modern girl. I think I prefer the Bettany spelling, but that's probably just because it's what I've been familiar with, and Betony could grow on me.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bettany_Hughes

LOVE IT!!!!
Don't really like it, prefer Bethany
Probably the reason it doesn't get used as a name much is because it sounds like Bethany with a slovenly accent.
Oh, cute! There is something familiar about this name, I'm sure I've seen it before but I can't remember where. I like it, but I'm not sure how I'd say it. Like "BET-nee" maybe? I see that it's the name of an herb, but I definitely thought it was a medieval form of Bethany or Betty, it's just got that kind of style. It's very sunny and warm.A lot of your combos are so fun.Betony Olalla fills me with joy.
Betony Susanna is perfect, Susanna and Betony are on the same wavelength.
Betony Matilda is great, so it Betony Roswitha!
Ooh, I love Betony Aldith! Betony Clare and Betony Alice or also lovely.
Too close to the little stick waved by conductors. I like Bethany a lot, and Bethan even more. That said, Betony Clarice is good!
Oh, interesting—I pronounce it "BET-uh-nee," so "baton" doesn't come to mind.
