Douglas. Dougal sounds awfully silly. Hard pass

Douglas. Dougal doesn’t sound right to me. :/

Oh I love Douglas. That gets my vote. Dougal feels unfinished to me.

Douglas. It’s my husband’s late father’s and late great uncle’s first name. His great uncle died on Halloween this year. Douglas is also a middle name for one of my stepson’s.

I prefer the short u sound in Douglas to the long oo sound in Dougal. I've never encountered a Dougal who had a nn; Doug for Douglas is pleasant.

Douglas is one of my favorite boy names; it's strong, handsome, and attractive...I wish that it were used more! I also think that Doug is such a cool nickname!
