which one is more dated: Estelle or Sylvie
or both or neither
wdyt?

Replies

Sylvie is more dated because it comes from Sylvia, a name that reminds me of older women. Estelle sounds modern because of it's similarity to Stella, a name that is popular in the US right now.
I think both but I can imagine a modern Sylvie (or better yet Sylvia) more so than an modern Estelle.
In the United States, Estelle is more dated, and in France, Sylvie is more dated.

Estelle is more dated; Estelle and Sylvia belong to the same era, though.
Sylvie to me. Kind of a grandma name. Estelle is more "vintage" than it is dated, because of the song American Boy.
Estelle probably, but neither were very popular so it doesn’t matter. Both are beautiful.
Estelle seems more dated to me, but perhaps that's because I don't like it. I've never met anyone called Sylvie; Sylvia seems pretty timeless.
Both, but Estelle more
Both, but Estelle more
I think Sylvie. Estelle has a modern sound.
