Which one do you prefer, and why? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Paula sounds soft. Weird huh? Because its only one syllable away from Paul? Sheryl is not the kind of vintage name that I like. I think its the "rull" part for me. Whether its spelled Cheryl, Sherill or Sheryl it does not look nice to my eyes.

PaulaaaaI have a major soft spot for Paula for some reason…I saw it on a young woman and I was just like Wow! Definitely refreshed it and just brought it back to life for me.Sheryl's still pretty dead to me

Sheryl, but only at gunpoint. I'd much rather go with Cheryl - not that I like that very much either. I really dislike Paula, especially when it's pronounced POW-la, as it is in Polish. Sheryl... Isn't great. Lacks personality. A bit of an amorphous blob with an annoying spelling. But not as grating as Paula.

I would choose Paula; I think that the name Paula is so wonderful as a girl name.

I'd choose Paula. Sheryl is way inferior to Cheryl, in my opinion.

Sheryl could spend her life explaining that, no, she wasn't Cheryl, and both are dated. I prefer Paul for a boy to any of the fem versions, but of them all, Paula is by far the best. Pauline has a very heavy sound.

Paula for sure! I think it just looks a lot better… Sheryl looks like a typo. Paula also seems more “timeless”, as it’s just a feminine version of Paul.

I'd pick Cheryl. She could be called Sherry/Cheri for short, but Cheryl sounds kind of bright and sunny on its own. Paula sounds heavy and sour.

If it was Cheryl, I'd go for that one, I'm actually fond of Cheryl; it's got warm, friendly, side-ponytail 80s energy with a bit of an edge. But Sheryl doesn't do anything for me - it's too much edge and not enough side ponytail. So I pick Paula.

I prefer Paula. Sheryl seems less put together.
