Lorena or Laurel

Lorena I guess. It’s more interesting than Lauren (and less dated to a specific time). And it has more pep than Laurel.

Lorena and Laurel tie for me. Not a fan of Lauren. I love Lorena because it feels like a charmingly old fashioned history and literature nerd name to me - the song "Lorena" was a huge craze during the American Civil War, and it was also the name of one of Scarlett O'Hara's forgotten children in the novel Gone with the Wind. But Laurel always struck me as a beautiful and kind of eerily Mysterious sort of name, in a beautiful dark shade of green. So if I were to use it in real life, I'd be torn. I also had a dream once where I had a daughter named Laurel Sailor. Not really my kind of thing ordinarily, but I'm a huge sucker for the incomprehensible oracle messages of dreams. So that gives the names some powerful charm.

Lorena is due to make a comeback in popularity. It sounds so ethereal and like a fairy. Laurel is an under-appreciated nature name and sounds so gentle. Lauren is very run of the mill and dated.

Laurel is too floral; Lauren is dated, where I live anyway; and Lorena is over-elaborate. Give me Laura any day.

Laurel is my favorite. It's an underused nature name. Lauren is pretty too but maybe dated as a first name.

Well, I will always choose Lauren. I have developed a fondness for Laurel, but it still sounds too buttoned-up and fussy, to me. Lauren sounds warmer.

Personally, I like Lauren the most as I feel it is the friendliest and has the prettiest sound.
