I've got a vague memory of it being used as a female name, perhaps in a comic-book for the superhero's sidekick? The only Dale I've known is definitely male, and his ln begins with L-, so the names run together inconveniently. I don't find it remotely interesting, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Dale Evans, married to Roy Rogers. She was instrumental in changing the way kids with Down Syndrome were treated. Before Evans most kids with Downs Syndrome were institutionalized, but Evans refused to do that. Instead she brought her child with her when performing.HEre's a link:
