Re: Chad and Stacey wdyt? nt
in reply to a message by )(
I think Stacey/Stacy is kind of cute. I have a young cousin named this, she's a teenager now and so was named it a good while after the name fell out of fashion.
Chad I have never liked. It doesn't sound attractive at all. After the 2000 election, when we learned about the little bits of paper punched out of ballots being called chads, the name, already slowly but steadily fading, took a nosedive. Pity all the guys named Chad who had to listen to jokes about being pregnant or hanging or punched. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!

A big portion of the drop was also due to the Chad stereotype - which is far more prevalent at this point:
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Absolute%20chad It's also a big incel term,. as is Stacey. I'm not going to link to any of it, as it's incredibly gross. But it's well-known and out there.
