It's cute, I like it. More than Joey, which was more often used in my generation for girls. Jo does have strong Little Women energy, but I kinda like that about it.

I've known several people named Jo Beth born in the late 50s, early 60s

Better than Meg-Amy!

Yikes!

Not too big on it. Wouldn't use it as a standalone name, likely as a nickname for other names like Josephine, etc.

I like it but I wouldn't want to use it as a full name. I'd make it short for Johanna or something.

Joe as a male nn is fine. Jo as a female nn is too Little Women. Jo as a male nn would be surprising; perhaps as a nn for Joachim?

Only as a nn for Joseph, Josephine, Joanne, Joanna etc

It's kind of cute, on someone else; but not just any someone else. I think it really only works as a nn, and only for the kind of gal who's unfussy and take-charge and cheerful. As a mn its a bit overly-cutesy-countrified-filler.

I like it. Overall I prefer it as a nickname for something like Joanne or Josephine.
