I actually prefer Elissa! Which I don't like at all; shows what I think of Dido. As a name, that is - the character is sad and interesting, and her post-mortem composure, cutting Aeneas dead in the underworld, is magnificent. But it doesn't make Dido an attractive name or collection of sounds.
