There was a Emerald in my primary school (children 4-12 years old) and she went with Emma which thoroughly bores me now.

I love gemstone names and I like the idea of using it for a girl. I like how you can use familiar nicknames of "Em" or "Emmy" or even "Mera".

It reminds me of a town and also the gemstone. Not particularly a good word for a human. I much prefer Esmeralda. More of a human name.

I might usually be bothered by -ald endings, but I feel like the ending of Emerald seems to sound quite soft.
Also emeralds seem sort of art-deco-y, rather than gaudy like Ruby or "rich" like Sapphire.
The downside is that it's an Em-name, and those are overdone right now.

I dont like it

I like the way it sounds, and I like all the associations. I love the "Emra-" beginning and that satisfying "-ld" thud at end so much. Emerald has just always looked.... odd to me as a name, written down. Leaves me feeling cold somehow. I don't know what it is.

I don’t hate it, but the -ald makes it sound masculine. I prefer Émeraude.
