Um ... "pert"? wtf.I like it. I think it should be brought back into use.
It's better than a lot of popular names. Better than Luna, Aurora, Chloe, Stella.
It's in a league with Iris and Cora.I like Doris Violet and Doris Melitta.

Aw, I love the idea of a little Doris! It does have a sprightly energy to it. And I love that it's so ancient and mythological, while also being able to make a mean casserole. Doris has that element of cheery, practical and sturdy glamour that I think will rise in popularity soon. You have some great combos!Doris Amy sounds like the most steadfast best friend aroundDoris Daphne knows how to have a good timeDoris Fern is cute as a dang buttonI also like the idea of laying on the "Casserole Goddess" vibe real thick and pairing it with other ancient-queen-next-door names, like:Doris Delia
Doris Irene
Doris Cynthia (though Cynthia Doris does flow better)
Doris Penelope
Doris Laverna
Doris Lydia

I'm not a fan. I like Dorothea and Dorothy; although I have a Doreen friend, I can't warm up to it and I really don't see the point of Doris, or of just about any other -is name, except Alice for some reason. Doris, Gladys, Janice ... so very faded and jaded.

I think it's fun! Gentle, seafoam green. Theodora is back in style, Dorothea has recently entered the UK charts again, so why not Doris?Love Doris Lulu it's so fun. A 1950s chorus girl?Doris Violet is very attractive. Doris Tansy, Briony (I only like this spelling), and Fern are also lovely.Doris Angelica - Doris is a bit drab and dowdy. She needs a loud, operatic, but also feminine and crystalline name for balance.Doris Ariadne
Doris Artemisia
Doris Christobel
Doris Theodosia
