Daffy?
Would Daffy as a nickname for David be completely unworkable in the US? I recently read a book with a character called Daffy in it (his full name was Davyd), and I really liked the name. The nickname would probably be the only reason I'd ever even consider David.
I also love Davy, but I have a doll named Davy whose main interests are wearing his best (female) friends' clothes, and while I've got nothing against crossdressers (he wouldn't be one if I did), the name is now too connected to the character.

Definetly, and I do like Daffy.
DAFFY?
SOUNDS LIKE DAFFY DUCK!

Would you mind not capitalizing every word? It's rude, and it makes my head hurt.
Thanks.

It'd really need to be adopted by the guy spontaneously in adulthood, I think.. you couldn't call a little boy Daffy and have it be good. But on a man who could carry it, it could be cool.
I read a book a long time ago with a character named Deyv (Dave).
