Yeah, a bit. I picture roughly the same person that I do for Judy.
I like Jocelyn more, although I think I'd use Joyce over Joy or Royce. Joy sounds lovely but too intense as a FN somehow, and I didn't really like the two I've met. Royce sounds more try-hard. Joyce seems like a steady, pleasant person; it's minimalist but not weak or exaggerated seeming.
Joyce Briar
Joyce Raphaelle
Joyce Wren
Joyce Juliana
Joyce Rhea
Joyce Penelope
Joyce Bridget
Joyce Juniper
Joyce Dream
Joyce Rhiannon
Joyce Talia
Joyce Desiree
I think it sounds pretty good as a MN for girl/unisex names that don't end with A or S
Stevie Joyce
Emery Joyce
Rowan Joyce
Brynn Joyce
Saylor Joyce
Astrid Joyce
Helen Joyce
Halo Joyce
Liberty Joyce
Marigold Joyce
Tegwen Joyce
Nadine Joyce

I love Joyce; it’s such a wearable, charming name that’s highly underrated! I don’t care for Joy, because it’s way too tied with the word “joy”. For me, Joyce has that tie to “joy” (happiness), all while being subtle about it; it’s not using the word directly, which I like. I wish that Joyce were still common, but I guess a bit of uniqueness doesn’t hurt!
I used to love Joyce, not so much anymore. It feels very formal to me. I prefer Joy.
I like Joy much better. Joyce feels abrupt and not joyful.
It's dated, but I like it. Everything old can be made new again, no? ;)
It is an old lady name, but I kinda like it.

Yes, too old lady. Joy is more timeless imo.
