What Do You Think of Turner?
How do you guys think the name Turner would work? In case it has to be said, I'm thinking about this for a male book character.

Thanks for all the opinions. (:
Hi!
Even before the painter my first image about Turner is William "Will" Turner played by Orlando Bloom in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' (2003) and later.
That's because I don't live in the Anglosphere so I don't meet any Turner around me and then I was a child when the movie was released so it was the first Turner I've heard.
Turner in my mind is adventure, bravery, freedom, sea, wind ... All positive vibes.

It's ordinary guy like Carter and Tanner.
Beyond that, I think of the painter.

I'd use it as his last name. Colin James Turner "Turner"

As a surname used to address a character, it works. In fiction, expected to allude to the character changing, esp within the story.
As a first name it seems sorta random-surname-as-first-name, suggesting a character who doesn't have a strong personal identity.

Could work for a character, sure. It reminds me of the painter and of turn tables.
Don't like it
