In general, an excellent name. Right now, it's been too popular for too long. I'd rather use Alec; if I did use Alexander then his nn from birth would be Sandy.

Classic, strong, ageless. One of my favorites. He can be Alex, Xander, Sasha or simply Alexander.

I like Alexander. Came pretty close to naming my son it. Would not have regretted.
It's not sounding fresh and new these days, but to me that's not as much a source of appeal for guy names, as it is for gal names (I wish that weren't so, but tbth it is so).

Nice, classic, can’t go wrong. I’m sick of Alex, though.

I love Alexander but couldn’t use it. I had an uncle Alexander known as Alec who died in 2019. My wedding that year was the last family event he attended. I also have a sister in law called Alexandra but known as Alex.

Experience makes it boring, but historical knowledge makes it cool... kinda balances out. I wouldn't use it (especially because all the coolness is with the full 'Alexander' and if that's your name in real life you'll probably just end up 'Alex') but I can see the appeal.Alexander 'Sasha' is kind of nice. But at least where I live, I feel like you'd need an "excuse" to use that (like a parent who is from a place where it's common).

not much to think about. It's the most classic name in history. Probably my favorite name that isn't hebrew.
